Peace Action: Working for Peace Since 1957

Tomorrow afternoon the House of Representatives is poised to vote on the Congressional Progressive Caucus budget known as the “Better Off Budget.” This budget would reduce the Pentagon budget and require it to pass an audit, end the Afghanistan war, invest in health care and the environment, make taxes more progressive for individuals while making corporations pay their fair share.

Now is the time to call your Representative at 202-224-3121 and ask them to vote yes on the Better Off Budget.

While the growth of the Pentagon budget has slowed thanks to your help on cutting Pentagon largesse and the slow ending of the Afghanistan war, it still consumes nearly half of the government’s discretionary spending. At the same time, our infrastructure crumbles, cuts have hit working families hard and education and the environment continue to suffer. The Better Off Budget takes steps to fix these challenges.

This budget isn't expected to pass, but a high vote will speak volumes to lawmakers on what kind of Federal budget we want as they work on the budget process this year. Invest now in a call to your Representative at 202-224-3121 and ask them to vote yes on the the Better Off Budget.
