Professor Christensen, a political scientist at Boston
College, will describe post-Soviet history of Russia and Ukraine and how U.S.
interventions contributed to the rise of Putin. He will look at U.S. policy
including sanctions, and possible solutions such as confederation, or
autonomy.
The situation in eastern Ukraine is tragic and dangerous,
with suffering and casualties for people in the region and the potential for
US/NATO confrontation with Russia.
