From Code Pink-We Desperately Need President Obama To Commute Chelsea Manning's Sentence To Time Served


Dear Daniel, Thank you for signing the urgent petition demanding the release of Chelsea Manning. The petition exceeded its goal. However, our work is not done. President Obama leaves office on January 20, 2017, and now more than ever, we need to ask him to give Chelsea time served. She’s been in prison since May 2010. During that time, she was held in solitary confinement and attempted suicide twice. She is currently serving a 35-year sentence. Chelsea risked everything to do what she felt was right. But her situation is about to go from bad to worse. K.T. McFarland, the incoming administration’s pick for Deputy National Security Advisor, has repeatedly called for Chelsea to be executed. President Obama has one last chance to do the right thing, but he’ll only do it if we generate a massive outcry, right now. We only have a couple of weeks left. Take the time to send her a letter and tell her how much you appreciate her courage and that you pushed Obama for her. Mail her a card or letter to: CHELSEA E.
