In Boston-Black Lives Matter Support Stand-Out -May 18th

  *   *
BLMsignDPP is starting a monthly “Standout for Black Lives” at Ashmont T station plaza on Thursday, May 18, 5:30-6:30 pm at the corner of Ashmont St. and Dorchester Ave.  We'll do this visibility action for just one hour, at the same time, on the third Thursday of each month:  May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, etc.

As a majority white organization, DPP wants to make our opposition to white supremacy visible, especially to white people living nearby or commuting through Dorchester at rush hour to whiter neighborhoods to the south.  We will hold a big“We Believe Black Lives Matter” banner and Black Lives Matter signs (including about a variety of issues that impact Black lives), and hand out fliers to pedestrians and drivers stopped at red lights.  As we do in our other street outreach about racial justice, we will listen and engage cheerfully and respectfully with anyone who may disagree with us, and NOT argue or preach. All are welcome to join us
