Mumia Abu-Jamal was convicted in 1982 of killing a policeman in a trial drenched in racism.Although innocent, he was targeted for being a former spokesman for the Black Panther Party, a MOVE supporter and a radical journalist, known as the “voice of the voiceless.”
He spent almost three decades on death row and is now on life sentence without parole. A jailhouse lawyer, writer and broadcaster, Mumia has consistently fought against injustice everywhere and for his freedom.
A recent court ruling makes it possible to reopen his case and prove his innocence. Crucial hearings will take place in Philadelphia on 27 March and 30 April. International support actions are crucial. Join us in supporting Mumia’s and other prisoners’ fight for freedom and justice.
London screening is part of the International Offensive to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal.  Actions includingdemonstration in Philadelphia on April 30 during the hearing. Over 500 organisations (including UNITE, the UK biggest trade-union)and individuals from every continent except Antarctica responded to the December 9, 2017 International Call to Release the District Attorney and Police Files Relevant to Mumia Abu-Jamal’s Case and to Free Him (International Call).
