Sponsor a Socialist to an International Activist School!

This summer there is a unique opportunity for socialists. A historic program of socialists from around the world are gathering in Spain to exchange experiences and take in political debate about the best ways to build the international movement for a socialist society going forward.

Several Socialist Alternative have the opportunity to attend this historic gathering and share the experience of building the socialist movement in 'the belly of the beast' in addition to learning lessons from workers and socialists around the world. BUT THEY NEED YOUR HELP.

Workers and young people in the US face historic levels of inequality and stagnating conditions in the midst of a huge boom for handouts for corporations and the super-rich given by Trump. In order to be able to take part in things like this, we need solidarity from other working people.

Please read this email through to the end and donate whatever you can, whether it's $5 or $200, to help these fierce young socialists make to Spain and continue the struggle for a better world.
Tiffani is the Lead Organizer at Real Change Homelessness Empowerment Project in Seattle. She has been active in the movement to Tax Amazon and the People's Budget Movement. On a daily basis she sees how the economic system of capitalism absolutely crushes the most vulnerable in our society. By being able to attend the CWI Summer School, she will learn lessons from socialists and activists from around the globe.

"In Seattle we are facing down the richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, with our capaign to #TaxAmazon and Build Affordable Housing. I'm the political director of this campaign, and have helped lead up our successful 1000 Homes Campaign and last summer's Affordable Seattle fight--send me to Barcelona because the fight to #TaxAmazon is international!" - Emily

"The role Ohio plays in US politics is unique and significant. While the Columbus and Cincinnati Socialist Alternative branches are relatively new, we've had a huge political impact and grown rapidly in just a few years. It’s crucial for us to connect with and make lasting ties with socialist fighters from around the world and apply the lessons we’ll learn to our work building branches across the state." - Dana and Robert

Jordan is an activist with Socialist Alternative in Seattle:
"I want to bring what I learn back to the United States to help build movements of workers and the oppressed in the belly of the beast. And I want to share the experience of the struggles of the American working class under Donald Trump and the Tax Amazon Movement to build affordable housing in Seattle with these fellow socialists to help in their movements. "

"Here in Chicago, Socialist Alternative has been able to make waves starting with huge marches in support for Bernie Sanders  and continuing with the resistance against Trump. We're currently working to build a movement for affordable housing as people are being pushed out of their homes due to big developers and rising rents. We hope to garner all the lessons we can to continue to fight the Chicago Machine!" - Theresa, Tara and Marianne
