Courage to Resist
Venezuela Embassy gerry condon
Gerry Condon, Veterans For Peace, violently arrested at Venezuelan Embassy
Emergency support needed at the Venezuela Embassy in DC.Despite having their electricity illegally shutoff last night, the Venezuela Embassy Collective continues to occupy the Washington DC embassy. The activists are in the Embassy at the invitation of the democratically elected government of Venezuela, but are now under siege by right-wing supporters of the failed US-backed coup and Selective Service police. Yesterday, our friend Gerry Condon, the National Board President of Veterans For Peace, approached the embassy holding two cucumbers. After he tossed the vegetables to activists in the embassy, he was violently arrested. Watch the video here.
Michael Uhl
Podcast: "This was a war ... against an entire people" - Michael Uhl
Michael Uhl led a combat intelligence team with the 11th Infantry Brigade in Vietnam during 1968-69. Afterwards, he helped expose the Phoenix Program. "It was, as we later described it, a genocidal war." This Courage to Resist podcast was produced in collaboration with the Vietnam Full Disclosure effort of Veterans For Peace. Listen to Michael Uhl's story here.

“After two months of confinement, and using every legal mechanism available so far, I can – without any hesitation – state that nothing that will convince me to testify before this or any other grand jury for that matter,” shared Chelsea Manning last week. Today marks 63 consecutive days incarcerated for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury about events related to her 2010 disclosures to WikiLeaks. Read her statement to the court and more here.
