Senate to Vote tomorrow on No War with Iran
To Al Johnson
Dear Al,
In response to threats of war from Donald Trump and his administration, Democratic senators have demanded a vote on a key amendment that
would bar funds from being used in a war with Iran without congressional approval. The ammendment to the NDAA, which provides military funding for the upcoming year, would introduce language blocking President Trump from launching a war on his own initiative.

A bipartisan group of congresspeople, including populist progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ro Kahnna and conservatives like Matt Gaetz, have introduced a similar ammendment in the House of Representatives. If it clears the Rules Committee, chaired by our own Jim McGovern, the House will vote on a war with Iran after the July 4th recess.
Now is the time to put pressure on our Senators and Congresspeople. Let them know that preventing a war with Iran is a priority for you. A war with Iran could easily spiral out of control, trapping the United States in another quagmire for years to come.
Here's what you need to do:
1) Call the Congressional Switchboard at 202-224-3121
2) Ask for your representative or senator and when connected say:
3) My name is ___________ and I am a constituent living at (your address). I’m calling to urge Representative/Senator ___________ to take a stand against the Trump administration's reckless march toward war with Iran. Please vote for the ammendment to the NDAA restricting Donald Trump from starting a war with Iran without congressional approval.
4) Report back to us by calling (617) 354-2169 or write to us at info@masspeaceaction.org. We need to coordinate our efforts and know what members or their staff had to say.
