Stop the media blackout on Bradley Manning’s trial!

Call the Office of the Secretary of Defense at (703) 697-9337 and demand journalists be allowed to record this historic trial!
Despite the unprecedented and historic nature of Army whistleblower Bradley Manning’s trial, journalists have thus far been banned from recording the proceedings. Because Americans get most of their news through television this presents a major barrier to the American public staying informed on a trial that will profoundly affect the future of our country.
It’s outrageous that the American public is being denied the right to view the trial of U.S. vs. Bradley Manning. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel was appointed by President Obama to ensure civilian oversight of the U.S. military. Call and demand that he ensure journalists can record Bradley Manning’s court martial proceedings!

Call the office of Secretary of Defense
Chuck Hagel at (703) 697-9337.

Tell them: Nobel Peace Prize nominee Bradley Manning’s trial is one of the most important in America today. The military court must be held accountable: allow the American people to watch these proceedings. Allow journalists to record these proceedings!
After calling the office of the Secretary of Defense, you can sign the petition to him here!

This week's hearing
April 10-12

Solidarity vigil for Bradley on Wednesday, April 10th, 7:30 am to 9:00 am in front of the Fort Meade Main Gate at Reece Road and US 175 (map). Bradley Manning is back in court this week for a pre-trial hearing that will determine how much of the trial will be open to the public, or closed because of classified evidence.
A vigil will be held prior to the hearing on April 10th, and we encourage supporters to come with signs advocating for better media access to the trial.
