Wednesday! Boycott, Divest, & SING: Boston BDS Day of Action
When: Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 12:00 pm
to 1:15 pm
Where: Park Street T Station •
Boston
July 9 marks the 10 year
anniversary of the International Court of Justice’s historic ruling declaring
Israel's wall on occupied Palestinian land to be illegal. Join us as we
celebrate the victories and confront the challenges still facing the Boycott,
Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign. We will march through downtown Boston,
stopping at several BDS targets–calling on pension fund TIAA-CREF to divest from
occupation profiteers, Veolia to respect human rights, and Macy's to stop
selling SodaStream.
Want to join in
a musical flash mob? In honor of Stevie Wonder's decision to boycott
"Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces" this year, we will perform an
anti-occupation rendition of his hit song "Superstition." Two optional
rehearsals will take place on July 7 + 8, from 6:30-8 PM, at 549 Columbus Ave, or you can learn the
dance from a video. Email suzipiet@gmail.com to join!
Cosponsors include American Friends Service Committee, Grassroots
International, Jewish Voice for Peace Boston, United for Justice with
Peace, National Lawyers Guild at Suffolk Law, Cambridge Bethlehem People to
People Project, American Jews for a Just Peace, Boston Coalition for Palestinian
Rights, Boston Feminists for Liberation, and Boston College Students for Justice
in Palestine.
