Donald Trump is making one dreadful cabinet nomination after another, poised to push the military-industrial-complex into overdrive, uproot some of our most basic protections, and ravage our planet. Many of us paying attention are counting down to the Inauguration with anxiety and fear. Though reality is looking more and more like one of the worst sci-fi dystopian fictions one could possibly imagine, this is not a time to be discouraged or defeated. It's not a time to give up or give in. Now, more than ever, we must stick together, strengthen one another, and fight back.
It's our duty to organize a viable and robust "movement of movements" that can effectively counter the dangers we expect from the President-elect. We must use this period to unite, strategize, and build relationships that can prevail where our institutions will fail us.
Many of us have been in this struggle for much of our lives, but we cannot continue using the same old strategies of recent years. Each of us needs to think about the roles we can play as we band together to defend peace and justice and define our unfolding history. As the Peace Pledge says, it's time to step-it-up!

Please join our national Peace Pledge conference call to:

  • Analyze and assess the ominous situation we face under Trump
  • Identify opportunities to build people power and win local campaigns despite Washington opposition
  • Hear about the work UFPJ is doing to reunite with alumni and movement allies at the national and international level
  • Discuss organizing, education, action, training concepts and needs
  • Tell us about the events you've planned or have in the works and share best practices
We want to hear from you about what your local groups are doing to prepare yourselves and your communities for one of the biggest social battles we may ever have to face. We need to know what UFPJ can do, as a network, to support your campaigns and to make sure that we have each other's backs when the Trump Administration attacks.
We need to have a serious discussion about what we must do in the first 100 hours and 100 days of the Trump Administration to defend our communities from the civil and human rights violations that we can predict based on Trump's campaign threats, nominees, erratic and reactionary behavior and seemingly total disregard for the rule of law.
Peace Pledge
