Blessed are the Peacemakers: Faithful People Gather to Speak out for Peace
March 30 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
St Bartholemew's Church
239 Harvard St, Cambridge
50 years ago, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke out against the war in Vietnam:
“Our only hope today lies in our ability to recapture the revolutionary spirit and go out into a sometimes hostile world declaring hostility to poverty, racism, and militarism.” ?
Join Massachusetts Peace Action On March 30 to connect with other people of faith who are coming together to work toward a more peaceful world through reducing the threat of nuclear weapons and our warfare economy.
We will be joined by a number of honored speakers, including
- Mayor Denise Simmons
- Rev. Paul Ford, Senior Pastor, Union Baptist Church
- Jim Stewart, Director of First Church UCC shelter
As people of faith we are called to stand together for peace, and against hatred and fear, and to embrace our common guiding principle: to love our neighbors as ourselves.
