Homeless folks are testifying The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival

To
Dear Alfred,
We have to revive the heart and soul of this nation.
From September to December, from Maryland to Kentucky, we’ll be holding hearings before candidates, elected representatives, and community leaders demanding that they finally submit to the testimony of the poor.
Our first hearing this morning, before Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress, is laying bare the evils of policy violence—child poverty and homelessness, family separation, denial of health care and more. This evening we will be in Virginia for a Poor People’s Hearing in Richmond. We won’t let politicians claim they didn’t know any better ever again.
In this electoral season, politicians will be forced to listen to those who have been left out of the electoral process; they will learn about the power of a new and unsettling force that is organizing across this country, and they will hear our demands!
GIVE TODAY
The sad truth is there are so many poor folk in this country that we could hold hearings every day for a year without coming close to showing elected officials what their willful ignorance has done.
With your support, we’ll keep inventing new, powerful ways to force politicians and our larger society to listen to the least among us and build power among poor people.
Forward together, not one step back!
