Boston, Mass.-April 14, 2015: About 4000 protesters held a rally and march through downtown Boston to demand at least $15 an hour wage for fast food and other underpaid workers. It was a very well organized protest starting with a rally at Forsyth Park near Northeastern Univ. then marching through downtown Boston with stops at some notorious corporations which underpay their workers such as McDonalds and AMC Loews Theater. Also, the march grew. As the march proceeded down Boylston St., coming up the other way was the Second Line Social and Pleasure Society Marching Band ( Honk activist band). They met head on at Berkeley St. Also on that corner were some giant puppets joining in as well. It became a whole lot louder and even festive. Several buses brought in protesters from around the state. This space is dedicated to the proposition that we need to know the history of the struggles on the left and of earlier progressive movements here and world-wide. If we can learn from the mistakes made in the past (as well as what went right) we can move forward in the future to create a more just and equitable society. We will be reviewing books, CDs, and movies we believe everyone needs to read, hear and look at as well as making commentary from time to time. Greg Green, site manager
