Sign the petition demanding the Senate stop the vote on Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.

Shaunna Thomas<moveon-help@list.moveon.org>

On September 16, Dr. Blasey Ford came forward publicly about her experience of being sexually assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's Supreme Court nominee. Thanks to her bravery, we now know that Kavanaugh, in addition to being a political danger to women, is a sexual predator.1
A sexual predator does not belong on the Supreme Court. Tell the Senate to publicly oppose Brett Kavanaugh's nomination and stop the vote on his confirmation.
Dr. Blasey Ford's story is horrifying, Alfred. During a party in high school, she described how Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, tried to pull off her clothing, and covered her mouth as she tried to scream.2

Kavanaugh's nomination was already on the rocks before Dr. Blasey Ford came forward with her story. But now, the outcry over Ford's allegations is putting pressure on every senator to come out against Kavanaugh.

Republican Senators Jeff Flake and Bob Corker have joined Democrats in calling for Kavanaugh's nomination to be delayed—and a hearing is planned for Monday.3,4

We believe survivors, and we believe Dr. Blasey Ford.

We have all the information we need to know Kavanaugh should not be a Supreme Court justice. If every Democrat and just a few Republicans come out against Kavanaugh's nomination, we have a real chance to stop this man from a lifetime nomination to the Supreme Court.

Sign the petition to send the Senate a clear message: Brett Kavanaugh has no place on the Supreme Court of the United States.
Thank you.

Air Force: Space Force would cost $13 billion over 5 years

Global Network<globalnet@mindspring.com>
To  Global Network

Creating a Space Force as a separate military service, as proposed by President Donald Trump, would cost an estimated $12.9 billion in its first five years, according to a detailed Air Force plan for how to go about it.
This is the first publicly available cost estimate. When the White House announced plans to establish a Space Force in August, Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan declined to give a figure but said it would be in "the billions."
The Air Force's estimate is contained in a Sept. 14 memo from Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson, who proposed that the Pentagon ask Congress for the authority and money to establish a Space Force headquarters in 2020.

[image: Don't Bank on the Bomb]

Please join us September 26, 2018 for a demonstration as part of the global
day of action against *BNP Paribas*, a French bank that provides more than
$8 billion in financing to nuclear weapons companies.

BNP Paribas offers services in corporate and investment banking, private
banking and asset management. It operates in 74 countries with almost
200,000 employees and over €2 trillion in assets.

Since January 2014, BNP Paribas has provided more than US$ 8 billion in
financing to nuclear weapon producing companies. In 2017 alone, BNP Paribas
provided around $1.4 billion USD in new loans and other financial services
that support the production and modernization of nuclear weapons.

Demonstrations are scheduled at BNP Paribas location in over 40 countries.
Join us for a demonstration September 26th, from 12:00pm-1:00PM outside of *BNP
Asset Management Offices, 75 State Street, Boston, MA 02109.   *September
26 is the United Nations’ International Day for the Total Elimination of
Nuclear Weapons <http://www.un.org/en/events/nuclearweaponelimination/>.

We are calling on BNP Paribas to stop all investments in nuclear weapons.
On July 7th, 2017 the UN adopted the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear
Weapons. This treaty bans nuclear weapons and all activities related to
them.  BNP Paribas must end all investments in nuclear weapons to keep up
with the changing times. Through coordinated action we have a strong
opportunity to get BNP Paribas to divest from these weapons of Armageddon.
