Chelsea Manning Remembered During The Maine Peace Walk To Demilitarize The Oceans

Chelsea Manning Remembered During The Maine Peace Walk To Demilitarize The Oceans

On this year’s Maine Peace Walk of some one hundred and seventy-five miles from Ellsworth, Maine to the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Naval Base held between October 9th and October 24th some walkers carried signs along the way honoring the heroic Wiki-Leaks whistle-blower Chelsea Manning now serving a thirty-five year sentence for telling the American people the truth about military atrocities by American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as other nefarious actions of the American government. The walk sponsored by Maine and Boston chapters of Veterans For Peace and other groups were highlighting the destructive role the U.S. military has as the number one offender against the sea and its inhabitants with its huge carbon footprint with its endless wars. We in VFP have used, and will use, every opportunity to keep Chelsea’s case in the public eye. We will not leave our sister behind.
