Please join the Union of Concerned Scientists for an important discussion with Dr. Vincent Intondi, author of African Americans Against the Bomb, on the intersection of US nuclear weapons policy and the fight for racial equality.

  • Vincent J. Intondi – Associate Professor of African American History and director of the Institute for Race, Justice, and Community Engagement at Montgomery College. Director of Research at the Nuclear Studies Institute of the American University in Washington, D.C.
  • Sean Meyer – manager of strategic campaigns, Global Security Program, Union of Concerned Scientists
The presenters will discuss: the intersection of US nuclear weapons policy, race, and racism; the prospects for a dangerous new global nuclear arms race and the dangers posed by a Trump presidency; and why communities of color and other citizens concerned with social and racial justice can and should be engaged with the issue of nuclear weapons.
