From Socialist Alternative- Support Grows for Socialist Candidate In Minneapolis

To
Economic inequality is at an all-time high in the U.S. And as of this month, only 5 men now own as much wealth as half the entire world’s population. Corporate politics as usual is failing working people. But as Bernie’s 2016 campaign shows, it’s possible to build a political force based completely on the power of working people, capable of challenging the billionaire class.

Kshama Sawant and Socialist Alternative played a key role in leading the fight for a $15/hr minimum wage in Seattle. Now we’re about to win $15/hr in Minneapolis, pointing the way towards how working people can win victories under Trump’s administration - by putting forward bold demands capable of inspiring working people, and by building our independent political power.

Unions that supported Bernie support Ginger Jentzen, an independent socialist running for Minneapolis City Council : Minnesota Nurses Association and the Communication Workers of America MN State Council - unions which we’ve fought alongside for a $15/hr minimum wage from the very start.

And now our campaign has support from the three largest socialist organizations in the country - we’re proud to add both the International Socialists of America and the Twin Cities Democratic Socialists of America to our list of endorsing organizations!

Bernie’s campaign smashed records, with over a million people chipping in an average donation of $27. In less than one month, over 100 Vote Ginger volunteers have knocked on thousands of doors. We’ve raised over $50,000 from over 500 donations. We’re showing that it’s possible to run a campaign that’s fully on the side of working people, not for sale to corporate interests.

But we need your help. Big businesses and wealthy developers will spend big to try to defeat a candidate who’s fighting to tax the rich, end Minnesota’s ban on rent control, and resist the Trump agenda.

Can you donate $15, $50, $500 - or whatever you can - to elect Ginger Jentzen to Minneapolis City Council and show that a socialist alternative is possible?
