AMERICAN LEFT HISTORY

This space is dedicated to the proposition that we need to know the history of the struggles on the left and of earlier progressive movements here and world-wide. If we can learn from the mistakes made in the past (as well as what went right) we can move forward in the future to create a more just and equitable society. Socialism and defeating the far right

This Saturday, 35,000 people came out in the streets of Boston to resist white supremacy, racism, and bigotry of all types. We defeated the nazis and sent them running home, outnumbering them 350 to 1.

In building on this momentum, we need to identify and fight both the symptoms of racism and hatred, and their root cause, which is the system of capitalism. A system that needs division in order to survive.

In order for us to defeat the far right, we need our movement to be connected to socialist ideas on how to transform society. Join Socialist Alternative to discuss building a movement against racism and oppression and for a better world.
