Stop and Shop is saying they have to raise healthcare costs by up to 500%, cut vacation time, kill workers’ pensions, eliminate time-and-a-half pay on Sundays and holidays, and cap wages at $18.50 for workers with years of experience. Meanwhile, Stop and Shop’s multinational parent company made $2 billion in profits last year, and their top executives make more and more money each year.
To stop these attacks, 31,000 Stop and Shop workers across New England are on strike. But a victory is not guaranteed. Winning this strike will require strong picket lines and active support from customers and the wider labor movement. If Stop and Shop is able to defeat the workers and their union, it will only give confidence to other corporations to continue making similar attacks on workers everywhere. That’s why all working people must support this strike.
Join this meeting of Stop and Shop workers, other union members, and community supporters to discuss how we can beat Stop and Shop and win this strike!
