The United States should not be sending public money to the military and police of Honduras, especially when basic human rights conditions have not been met.

The
Berta Caceres Act would suspend U.S. funding to Honduras for police and military operations, including money for equipment and training, until the Honduran government investigates the credible allegations of gross violations of human rights by their security forces and pursues prosecutions in emblematic cases of violence against environmental, small-farmer, and human rights activists, opposition protesters, and journalists.
This bill also calls for the United States Government to vote no on all future loans from multilateral development banks to Honduran security forces.
