Today, April 24, is a national call-in day on Korea. Please call your senators and/or member of congress to support ongoing diplomacy and take war off the table.

The leaders of North and South Korea will meet on April 27 in a historic summit that should lead to further steps toward peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula. South Korean President Moon Jae-in has been superbly effective in his diplomatic surge, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has responded positively to Moon's initiatives. It is clear Koreans, North and South, as well as war-weary Americans, fervently desire peace.

We need more Members of Congress to speak out in favor of Korean diplomacy. With a summit meeting between President Trump and Kim expected this spring, Representatives and Senators need to stand firmly for serious diplomacy, as there is no military solution to the concerns raised by North Korea's development of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles.

On Tuesday, please Call your members of Congress today via the Congressional switchboard number (202) 224-3121 and tell them to:

*Speak out for diplomacy. Take war off the table.

* Co-sponsor the No Unconstitutional Strike Against North Korea Act of 2017 which would prevent the president from launching a pre-emptive attack on North Korea (Sen. Ed Markey’s Bill S.2016https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/2016 and Rep. Ro Khanna’s  bill HR 4837 https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/4837)

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE SENDING YOUR ALERT:  Both Massachusetts senators and the following members of congress are already sponsors of the bill: Capuano, Clark, McGovern and Tsongas (thank you Nikki!) please thank them and ask them to press the Trump Administration to continue to pursue diplomacy, not war.
