Dear Alfred,
In less than 24 hours, our movement will kick off 40 days of nonviolent direct action in more than 30 states and Washington, D.C.
As someone who has been trained and is committed to Nonviolent Moral Fusion Direct Action, you are invited to come to St. Paul's Cathedral, 138 Tremont St at 11 am (Across from the Boston Common) to either participate in CD on Monday, or to support those who are doing so.
We know many of you have received reminders and RSVP'd to indicated your willingness to participate in direct action on Monday, but others who have been trained and not RSVP'd yet are also invited to participate.
All those who are planning to participate in CD will sign a legal intake form, and a covenant of non-violence if you have not already done so.
As our national leaders Rev. Barber and Dr. Liz Theoharis said, we will come together to ensure our demands for immediate attention to systemic racism and poverty, ecological devastation and the war economy are heard.
Our first week of action will highlight children, women and people with disabilities living in poverty. Our demands for change became even more urgent this month because President Trump is trying to cut $7 billion of funding from the Children's Health Insurance Program, a move that could snatch health insurance away from 9 million children. He’s also doubling down on a push for work requirements for SNAP recipients that could slash tens of billions of dollars from the program and cut benefits to 1 million households.
All of our choices are moral ones, especially when it comes to children, women and people with disabilities living in poverty. Let’s join together and force our country to make better ones.
