Boston, Mass.-Nov. 11, 2014: Once again this Veterans/Armistice Day 2014, the Boston Smedley Butler Brigade of Veterans For Peace and supporters were forced to march way behind at the end of the "official" Boston, Mass. pro-war Veterans Day parade. About 100 Vets For Peace and friends marched from Boston Common to Faneuil Hall, led by The Leftist Marching Band. This year, the march started with a peace rally and speakout at Park St. from 12-12:45, then crossed the Boston Common to march at the end of the parade at 1pm. A Boston police motorcycle crew separated the VFP parade from the main parade--however, there were still many onlookers giving the Vets For Peace parade cheers and applause. Here is a video I took as well as photos: VIDEO: http://youtu.be/QPIL9cBbP-8 PHOTOS: https://www.flickr.com/photos/protestphotos1/sets/72157648840157778/# http://www.smedleyvfp.org | |

This space is dedicated to the proposition that we need to know the history of the struggles on the left and of earlier progressive movements here and world-wide. If we can learn from the mistakes made in the past (as well as what went right) we can move forward in the future to create a more just and equitable society. We will be reviewing books, CDs, and movies we believe everyone needs to read, hear and look at as well as making commentary from time to time. Greg Green, site manager
