Call Congress NOW! Yemen War Powers Vote Wednesday

House of Representatives will Vote on Yemen War Wednesday!
Dear Al,
Congress will vote Wednesday on the Yemen war powers resolution, H.J.Res.37. The resolution was introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna; it would invoke the War Powers Resolution to require U.S. forces to end their military cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the Yemen war. Reps. Jim McGovern, Joe Kennedy III, Katherine Clark, Seth Moulton, and Ayanna Pressley and Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren have signed on as cosponsors, but Reps. Stephen Lynch, Lori Trahan, Richard Neal, and Bill Keating so far have not done so. The bill will face several amendments Wednesday as well.
Call now at 1-833-STOP-WAR (1-833-786-7927) to urge your Representative to:
- Support the rule and final passage of H.J.Res. 37
- Support the McGovern amendment, that among other things clarifies that there is no authorization of the war.
- Oppose the Buck amendment, that would allow the US to share targeting information to Saudi/UAE that has been used to target civilians.
- Speak on the floor, do a press statement and use social media to support the bill and bring attention to the Yemen war.
