Rally at the Mass State House For Living Wage, Jobs, and Housing on Monday

Hi Alfred,

Our fifth Monday action in the 40 Days of Action by the Poor Peoples Campaign will be this Monday, June 11th, at the Massachusetts State House.

During the last 4 weeks, 80 activists have engaged in civil disobedience to force a Moral conversation around systemic racism, poverty, the war and militarism, and the devastation of our environment. Monday we are fighting for the right to live: to have a living wage, health care, and the right to an education.

We have a great line up of speakers for the rally, which will begin across from the State House on the Boston Common at 2 PM. Following the rally there will be a march to two sites highlighting those opposing the Massachusetts ballot question to raise the minimum wage to $15; and those complicit in policies that deny us adaquate housing, education, and income.

We’re showing up Monday because 62 million people in our country work for less than a living wage. At least 25 states have passed laws that preempt cities from raising their minimum wages to living wages.

Just 3 individuals own as much wealth as the bottom 50% of us. We refuse the lie that there is scarcity. Join us for economic justice.

We also have a whole line up of additional upcoming events next week. Please click each one for more info:
